NARA

Dislikes: Mud- leaves dirty marks on clothes, too much sunlight makes her poorly and faint, spiteful people, thoughtless people, trousers...

Nara comes form a long family of Witches, generally good witches but there has been the odd rogue in the family and Circe and Tyche are leaning towards the dark side, whilst fooling their parents and generally getting away with ,well, almost murder!
Speaking of rogues, Nara’s Uncle, on her fathers side, is one of them. He deals in black magic and is involved in the criminal underbelly of the town. He is loyal to his family but they distance themselves from him, not wishing to sully their own good name. Nara’s Uncle has a son, Noel, who, like him, dabbles on the dark side. He is often involved in shady deals but has an unmeasurable charm and has somehow managed to get Nara’s parents to accept him and see him as one of them.
On her mothers side she has another cousin, Ulric. Ulric means- power of the wolf. He is a bit of a healer and carries the magical trait. Ulric is quiet and strong, a red head with cute freckles. He looks serious at all times but Nara can see his cheeky grin if she looks hard enough. He has recent; come back into her life as he has been sent to look after her in our world.

They are not magical in an over the top way, their spells have to be done as rituals and they have to gather ingredients, at times this in itself has caused some problems when modern day living has made it necessary to swap an ancient ingredient- making the spell change a little!

Nara’s parents and their parents before them work for the local police department, in a hush hush kind of way- her mother is a ‘see-er’ who tried to predict and solve cases and her father is a protector, working on keeping the forces safe. Esus has branched out and not joined his parents footsteps- her prefers to work as a private spellcaster, bringing luck to big businesses and performing spells on the ‘good’ side to the general public. He runs his own business called ‘spell.com’. He has a little fame on TV- on chat shows and cable channels and generally is know as ‘The Mage’.

The family’s magical background is an unspoken fact in the town, no one mentions it but everyone knows that they are the people to go to when all else fails.

Nara, appears at first to not be the best at spellcasting, she is what can be described as the ‘pink’ sheep of the family, looking girly and innocent compared to her family and especially her twin sisters who display their gothic looks as a non concealed hint to their darker souls.

Nara is always putting things right or trying to stop to her sisters wrong doings, but they are unaware that Nara would be able to do anything to stop them. She is ridiculed by them for being rubbish at spells but unbeknownst to them, the spell book, has chosen her out of this generation to talk to, every generation it chooses one family member to impart secrets- every thinks that Esus will be the one, no one suspects the youngest, Nara.

Nara is the only one not to have magical name (notice all the others are gods or goddesses) this I because her parents consulted an Oracle before her birth and was told that the child would be a ‘Non’, someone who would not inherit magic. Nara was supposed to be a twin but at the birth Nara’s twin disappeared, not there, the doctors thought they had got it wrong, Freya must have been only carrying one child.

Nara, was actually a magical child and her twin was taken by the faerys. A changeling was supposed to be left but they forgot. Nara’s twin has grown up in faery land, and whilst she is the one that is the ‘Non’ she has studied with the faerys and will return to assist Nara one day in faery form.

From Faeryland, Nara has a visitor, who has taken it upon himself to let Nara know about Naratu- he felt it wrong to hind this information from Nara and has let Naratu know the truth. He was around when Naratu was stolen and it is him that forgot to leave a changeling. Ever since he has been wracked with guilt. He knows now he has left Faeryland it will be hard to go back and get Naratu and he must wait for the day when this is possible.
